As vice provost of Student Academic Affairs and dean of the Graduate Division at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), Dr. Nicquet Blake is responsible for overseeing services to more than 3,200 graduate and professional students, including 1,800 graduate students. Additionally, she oversees the 1,100 postdoctoral trainees at UCSF.
As vice provost, she oversees 18 units that provide academic, personal, and professional development resources ranging from financial aid to health and counseling, and from classroom learning resources to career planning. As dean of the Graduate Division, her responsibilities include oversight of more than 34 graduate programs (master’s and doctoral), student recruitment, admissions and retention, faculty development, career and professional development, and the NIH-mandated Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) courses.
In these roles, Dr. Blake is well positioned to develop policies and strategies designed to provide the necessary training and support to maintain an equitable and inclusive environment for all trainees.
