Strategic Initiatives
The initiatives under this pillar will be launched across the five-year period of the strategic plan. The launching initiatives are those that start in year one, 2023.
Improving the culture and the graduate ecosystem (faculty focused) - Launching Initiative
Supporting faculty with the knowledge and skill development they need in order to be inclusive and effective mentors (included in ecosystem: students, postdocs, faculty, staff).
Develop holistic wellness education - Launching Initiative
Intentionally teach learners the knowledge and skills needed to take care of their own wellbeing and needs. Create collaboration across multiple units to support learners' holistic wellness. Develop a structure to support postdoc holistic wellness.
Tell stories about SAA-GD learner community
Enhance the reputation of UCSF and SAA-GD by telling stories that demonstrate community, diversity, leadership, innovation and impact and by amplifying learner, faculty, and program successes.
Facilitate increased mental health opportunities across schools
Spearhead an initiative to increase the mental health opportunities across UCSF’s schools and the Graduate Division.
Staff wellness initiative
Build a culture of wellness by designing a staff initiative designed to promote and nurture wellness with our people.
